Quilting

So I've been very inspired by my MIL to start quilting again. I thought it would only be fair to make one for Sela first. Here's my first square. It's not perfect, but I'm so proud of myself!

...

Not much going on in the Roger's household. All we've been up to is getting ready for our newest addition. Lots of cleaning, organizing, crafting..blah blah. The only exciting thing that has happened is our beautiful niece was born last week. Jared's sister had an amazing labor and we're glad we live close by so we've been able to visit her a couple of times. It always amazes me at how fast newborn babies grow and change. Lolohea and Manase named their daughter Leila. I love the name. It's so girly. Sinalei didn't like it when I held her for the first time, but she's use to it now. I hope she's nice to her brother. Sela didn't seem to care much. She kind of just looks at her cousin...she must think she's a little doll because she's so tiny. I'm glad my girls have another cousin close in age that they can be close to.
Sela went back to California with her grandma. Our house is so quiet without her. We miss her spunky little presence in our home, but with her gone I'm able to get so much stuff done. Don't get me wrong I miss her like CRAZY and yes I cried, but now I can rest up a bit. Sinalei misses her sister, but is doing fine. She is such a little angle without Sela around. I guess the only time she would cry is if Sela was picking on her or they weren't sharing. I know Sela is having a blast in California plus I feel Sela needed some extra attention since she'll be an older sibling once again and she's not even three. I know she loves having her sister, but part me feels that she didn't have enough time to herself. So hopefully she's getting spoiled by her grandparents :)
Well 5 more weeks to go! Yesterday some old guy was checking us out at Walmart and he says to me "any day now right"....great way to make me feel like a huge blimp because I have 6 week to go, but luckily I'm getting induced a week early. Anyway I cant wait to meet our son and for our family to be all together again!

Dancing Queen

Sela started dance class this past week. We've been looking forward to this for quite sometime. The day finally came on Wednesday. Sela looked so adorable in her little outfit. The studio is about 15 minutes from where we live. During that time Sela managed to fall asleep. My daughter Sela is a deep sleeper and does not like to be woken up...she's just like her daddy. When we got to the studio I woke her up and dragged her to the dance studio. She was not a happy girl. There were 4 other little girls and all of their mommies were taking pictures. I tried to convince her that she would have so much fun if she would just try it out. Sela cried and begged me to let her sleep...lol. So we have to try again this week. I've been trying to get her to nap earlier so she wont fall asleep. I think we'll just leave an hour early and go to a park so she is all hyped up for class.

Other than dance class nothing too exciting has happened. Sinalei and Sela are becoming such good friends. They love playing with each other. When one wakes up in the morning they want to wake up the other. I love having two girls so close together. They keep each other company and there's nothing like having a sister who you can confide in and have fun with. I look forward to watching them grow up and become closer.

Pregnancy is going well. Had a doctor's appointment this week and it was maybe 5 minutes long. Had to drink the nasty glucose drink. Haven't heard anything back so I am assuming my test came back okay. 8 more long weeks and it's going by like a snail. Wish it would hurry up!

30 weeks!!!!

I've made it! Now if these last 10 weeks would hurry up (which I doubt I'll make it the whole 40) My tummy is huge!!! My SIL is 6 weeks further along and we're about the same size. All I know is this baby better weigh 10 pounds lol.
So I've been super, super busy lately. My sisters were here for about a week. They were so much help. My girls absolutely loved having them around. We had tons of fun trying to find things to do around here in Utah that wouldn't cost a lot of money. So most of our time was spent at Chucky Cheese. Sela loves this place!!! I think we went 3 or 4 times. Jared and I had fun too playing all the games trying to win tickets for the girls. I hope my family can come visit us more often. I love it when they come. I don't think I'll be heading to California anytime soon especially after I have our son. We're looking forward to January because that's when we plan on blessing him so I'm sure it will be another mini family reunion.
I attended a coupon class on Tuesday hosted by my SIL's friend, Ula, it was very informative. I know it's going to be a TON of work. I started organizing all of my coupons today and I'm still not done. I have to purchase a binder so I can be more organized and make shopping a whole lot easier. Anyway I'll let you guys know how it goes now that I have a better understanding on how to use my coupons and get the best deals.
I also went to my SIL's baby shower over the weekend and it was a ton of fun. The games were hilarious and the food was good. So any day now I'll have a brand new niece and we're all excited. The Roger's family is expanding like crazy. I love big families and I'm so glad my kids will have cousins to grow up with.
My girls are growing up so fast. Some days they drive me nuts, but they always make me laugh everyday. Sela is a major goofball and Sinalei is our little ham. I cant wait for Sela to start her dance class next week. I will take tons of pictures for sure!

Are we there yet?

That is how I'm feeling right about now with this pregnancy. Part of me wants to keep this baby in as long as I can because I know when he arrives, my life is going to be turned upside down. It's just so discouraging when I know there are 11 weeks left and I'm already uncomfortable sleeping, breathing, eating and so on. I hate complaining about being pregnant because I know it is such a huge blessing...I just wish this kid would stop beating me up inside. He loves to kick my ribs and kick DOWN...that is not a fun feeling. On a more positive note I am excited to finally have my baby boy. I love my girls so much, but I'm a little girl'd out. It'll be nice to have a boy in our little family as Jared is greatly outnumbered 3 to 1. Boy stuff isn't as cute as girl stuff...that's just my opinion. I think its a blessing that I feel that way otherwise I'd be shopping for everything. In fact I haven't bought a single thing for this baby yet. The only boy items I have are the clothes my mother in law bought. I put them in the corner of the girls room and it just makes me smile whenever I see them. We still haven't picked a first name yet, but we do have a middle name. I don't think we'll announce his name till he's born.
Other things we've been up to is we went coupon shopping for the first time on Friday. It was...kind of difficult because I didn't really have an organized way of going about it. I kind of just cut out the coupons of food that i was interested in buying and fished around for them while I was at the store. Jared and the girls came along as well and I will never bring them again! It just took twice as long because the girls were all over the store and my poor husband had to chase them around. It's funny whenever we all go out together because everyone always thinks the girls are twins then they look at them a little longer and say or are they close in age. I always feel embarrassed answering just how close in age they are...what makes it worse is they look at me and I am CLEARLY pregnant again. I just try and think of the all the pros of having 3 kids all close together. Anyway, back to my grocery shopping..we saved 80 dollars, spent 90 and have tons of food now. We were running low from a shopping spree we went on with Jared's parents two weeks prior. They were so kind to stock up our fridge before they left. It was such a huge blessing. Here's our shopping (not included is 2 gallons of ice cream :)
This week Sela got a new car seat. She had a pretty crappy seat that didn't have any cushioning so my mom felt bad for her and got her a new one. Jared and I had talked about getting her a new one for a while, but I'm sure all of us mother's know how darn expensive they are. So we got the car seat today and Sela loves it! It's super comfortable and she doesn't mind riding in it at all. Sinalei actually got a little jealous and wanted to sit in it lol. We're so thankful for our families and for all the help they give us. Sometimes it amazes me with the timing of things. Our families will offer us help and not know how much we really need it. I know it's because they're inspired and that they love us. We love our families so much.
My sister's are coming tomorrow and I'm totally jazzed. My parents are sending them to help me with the girls until they start school. Actually Audrey can only stay till Thursday, but it will be nice because I haven't seen her in so long. Last time I was in California I didn't see her because she was working every time I came over. Nikki is staying for 2 weeks. It's going to be great. I'm sure I'll have tons to blog about.
We're just so thankful for everything right now. A huge blessing is having family here in Utah. I wouldn't be able to go back to school if it weren't for Jared's sister. She babysits the girls while I go to fulfill my clinic hours on Fridays. We're so grateful for all the help we receive.
Oh yeah I'm starting a crochet class offered at Joanns next month. I really want to make a blanket for this baby boy and my girls. I'm trying to convince Jared to get me a sewing machine off of KSL. Hopefully I can get one for Christmas so I can start quilting again and maybe learn to make some dresses. I think this whole Utah homemaker thing is rubbing off on me lol...no offense
